Configuring passive interfaces in OSPF is similar to EIGRP:
Passive OSPF interfaces essentially disable the Tx/Rx of OSPF hellos on an interface, ensuring it will not form OSPF adjacencies. This can have security implications, and also reduces the overhead associated with the routing protocol.
