9.22 Configuring Redistribution

Depending on how routes are redistributed, it may be necessary to change administrative distances to ensure there is no sub-optimal routing path.

For instance, perhaps an intra-area OSPF route over a sub-optimal routing path has an AD of 110 (default), while a redistributed/external EIGRP route with AD 170 is actually the better path…

Here is an example of changing the AD for specific routes learned through a specific neighbor:

… Under the routing process, configure the distance command >new AD > neighbor (IP & WC) > and ACL reference.
