Here’s another route map example:

  • Two networks will be redistributed from EIGRP into OSPF, two will not.
  • A prefix is used for classification.
  • The seed metric (OSPF cost) is changed for these two prefixes from 20 (default) to 25.
  • The metric type is changed to O E1 from the default O E2, which will add link cost as it is propagated through the OSPF area. Therefore, R1 will see cost as 35 (seed plus link cost) instead of 20 (external type 2 seed metric, default).
